Nero & F-Prot = 100% CPU & Nero FREEZE

Nero 6.6.0.8 in most cases just won't start when F-StopW (a part of F-Prot Antivirus 3.16b that scans executed programs in the background) is loaded. You then have to manually terminate Nero.exe thru Windows Task Manager which shows 100% CPU usage...

Craig, could you please investigate and resolve this issue? Thank you!

System: Windows XP Pro SP2, Intel Celeron 1 GHz (i815E chipset), 384 MB Micron SDRAM.

I've created a Task Tracking Entry to have our Engineers look into this.

Hi Han,

Our Engineers did try and duplicate your issue, but they were unable too.

Have you had this AntiVirus software on your system for some time, along with Nero, and just recently started running into this issue after upgrading our Nero software, or the AntiVirus software?

Or did you install any new hardware and/or software and started seeing this issue?

Regards,

Craig

Hmm, I can duplicate the problem on another PC - ASUS P2B, 1 GHz P3, 384 MB Micron SDRAM, Windows 2000 SP4, F-Prot 3.16b, Nero 6.6.0.8.

There's definitely something wrong, because it takes forever to start Nero Burning ROM. Especially when you first start Nero StartSmart. I've noticed if I wait for half a minute, Nero eventually pops up. Meanwhile, CPU Usage is at full 100%!

I've been using F-Prot for quite some time, but only recently allowed F-StopW to protect the machine all the time. It seems that only Nero has troubles executing while F-StopW is active.

Hi Han,

We are still not able to duplicate this issue. Can you provide me with the output of the Dependancy Walker file? You can send it to me at techsupport4@nero.com

Regards,

Craig

Hi Craig,

I've sent you the output of the Dependency Walker file. For the future and further assistance please be so kind and provide short instructions how to use Dependency Walker. Thanks!
