EasyWrite Reader questions

1) What is the current available version of EWR?

2) Where can it be downloaded? This is one of the most difficult items to find on Nero's website, IMHO.

3) I was under the impression that InCD 4.3.11.1 included EWR and thus you didn't have to install EWR as a separate application on those systems whose drives don't have Mt. Rainier capability? From my experience, this is not the case and EWR must be installed even on a system that is running Nero 6.6006, InCD 4.3.11.1, but has an older drive that doesn't support Mt. Rainier to be able to read CD-RW disks that have been formatted with Mt. Rainier.

1) 4.0.0.19

2) ftp://ftp2.de.nero.com/EasyWriteReader4.exe

3) Well, you've figured it out EWR should be installed separately... :-?

EWR has being replaced by InCD Reader which latest version is 4.3.11.1 available at: http://ww2.nero.com/us/InCD_4_Reader.html

This reader includes both UDF reading (1.02 to 2.50) and CD/DVD MRW remapping for all Windows versions.

Thanks....... I'll have to give this a try later on this afternoon on a fairly new E-Machine with a 1 year old Asus burner (52x32x52 and MRW capable) that has Nero Express and InCD 4.3.11.1 and EasyWrite Reader 4.0019 installed and still can't read my CD-RW discs.

Of course, now that InCD Reader has grown to 2.92 megs, it will have to be burned to a CDR in order to use it on other machines, which this program was specifically designed for. The older versions of EasyWrite Reader were small enough to put on a floppy at 920KB which was convenient.

Hopefully end-user will soon stop requesting 9x/Me support and we will be able to shrink the installer size again to fit a floppy... or the GAA zone of a MRW disc (the zone readable by all drives).

why not provide the users with downloads of versions of EWR for each OS ? if you know on what OS you're going to need the EWR then you don't need the huge file.
