Trouble copying / moving files on DVD with InCD

I am running Win XP Pro with an LG Multi format DVD-RW, including DVD-RAM supported by InCD software v 4.3.11.1 which came bundled with the burner.

I have a DVD+RW disc with files of about 2GB written / copied with the same hardware & software. The file system is shown as UDFRDR.

I have 2 issues. Firstly the properties dialogue shows there is no free space despite the 4.7GB capacity. Secondly, when I try to move the files from this DVD, I get the message that access is denied, and to make sure the disk is not full or write protected. Well, I suppose the disk is full, as mentioned above - but it shouldn't be. It wasn't written with software that "closed" the disc. It was simply done by drag & drop using InCD.

I am the system administrator, so I don't know why I don't have access, or how I can get access to move or copy the DVD+RW files.

I use the DVD as a back up of stuff from my main drive. All my other DVD+RWs are the same, showing no free space, although at the time, I was able to add files to them. It's only now that I want to back up some more files that I find they are "full" and access blocked if I try to move them elsewhere. I seem to be able to access these files on the DVD itself. I just get a problem if I want to move or copy them on somewhere. I did format the disc(s) before copying / moving files to them.

Using a new DVD+RW I've tried various scenarios (using InCD).

On Quick Format, the file system is RAW, the disc name label is lost and the disc has no free space.

On Format (with & without verify) the file system is UDFRDR, the name label is kept, but again, no free space.

On Erasing the disc, I get file system of INCDFS, the disc name in My Computer shows "InCD auto formattable" and there is 4.37GB of free space. At this point I was able to copy a folder across to the drive. I then got a message "Preparing disc for formatting". The disc name label changed to InCD. After copying the file to disc, free space remained.

HOWEVER, when I next open My Computer, the Drive Disc name remained at InCD but the file system had changed to UDFRDR and no free space. The copied file was still showing.

I don't know if this is relevant, but I'm using Easy Media Creator but did not install Drag-to-Disc (which I think) is the successor to Direct CD. I've assumed that that allows me to use InCD (from the LG bundle) without conflict. I had problems before with Direct CD not uninstalling properly which is why I was reluctant to install Drag-to-Disc. Since then, I've re-formatted my hard disc. I also thought it "safer" to use the software which came with the burner.

Iam wondering if this is all caused by a conflict between Nero & Roxio.

Apologies for so much detail.

I'm new to this site and I'm not sure if this should be posted to this forum or DVD Recordable. I don't know if I've got a program or hardware problem.

I would appreciate any help on this.
