Cool, so we know nothing other than that it will come out eventually!

Nero sure does know how to announce a new product,

Anyways, I just paid for Nero 6 not too long ago, I don't think I need to give them any more business for their lack of product support.

I'm curious to see how Nero 7 will look and feel.

I still like the look of Nero 5.5 compared to Nero 6.

The last time they introduced a new major version (5.5 -> 6.0) , they had a special deal on upgrading OEM to full versions of 5.5. So effectively, you got both a full 5.5 and 6.0 serial number for the one price. I don't know if that'll happen this time, but it's worth watching for.

As to what's coming, heise had a bit more information. New versions of Nero Vision, Nero Wave Editor, Sound Trax, Backitup and InCD are coming. Nero SoundBox will mix 5.1 or 7.1 sound. Nero 7 itself will handle BluRay and HD-DVD (as expected) and InCd will support the appropriate UDF version (2.5/2.6)

The major innovation is apparently a revamped "Media Home" with Media center look.

Personally, there's nothing there that I need at this moment- I'll wait until it ripens a bit. I just hope the bug fixes keep coming for Nero 6.

Thanks for the link hox, but from what I can see, it doesn't look all that hot on top of Nero 6. Maybe if Nero would actually tell us what the new features and enhancments are, I'd be a bit more enthusiastic.

so far, no such luck. :(
right now, an upgrade from nero 5.5 to 6 costs $52, nero 6 OEM to nero 6 full costs $56. so even if that were eligible for the free upgrade to 7 it's still not worth it, since upgrading from 6 to 7 will be $50.
too bad.

I'm kinda new to nero but i wish they would concentrate more on the
basic function of creating backups and less on the bells and whistles.

At this stage, i'm not sure at all that i'll by it.

I see we have to register to receive our free upgrade for those who purchased a retail ultra edition. However I have a problem I bought my Ultra Edition from Best Buy for $99 but had no reason to keep the box or the receipt since after all it's software not hardware so I now can't receive the special offer. IMO this is a bunch of crap> Who the hell keeps receipts for software? Sure I keep the receipts for all my major computer hardware and stereo equipment but software give me a break. I guess the guys at Nero really thought this one out knowing full well most people will have tossed their receipts therefore no special offers for them. I did however purchase the 5.1 Dolby encoder for NV3 online from Nero but never kept that email receipt either after I had safely backed up the serial number and file. Some of these companies really make me wonder.

By the way is there any way of finding out when you installed a piece of software on your computer apart from straining your brain trying to remember. I can't remember what month and date I installed Nero 6 that's why I asked.

Hi Seaegg,

You would be surprised at how many people keep their receipes.

And if you have not been banned from Best Buy, you can always ask them to reprint you your receipt. They are helpful that way. :D

And we keep a record of all online purchases, all you need is your name and email address used to make the purchase. Or the Purchase order number, but I'm sure that was not kept by you either. 8)

We don't want to make it hard on you, but we do need to keep people honest. Everyone has checks and balances, even my wife. #-o

Regards,

Craig

I will try the Best Buy route but considering how they do business in Canada I'll be more than surprised if they can fulfill such a request even though I can give the date the purchase was made. I still stand by my original statement there is absolutely no need to keep receipts for siftware unless you're sending a rebate or you're not sure if you should have bought it in the first place. Recycle and save the trees. :D

Hi Seaegg,

I've had a number of customers that I've directed to return to Best Buy to obtain a receipe, and the Best Buys in the U.S have always been able to provide this to them, so far. :-)

Craig

What is Nero 7 Premium? Does it contain Nero Burning ROM?

Is it just another name for Nero Express? I went to the Nero website, Nero Premium is not listed.
