InCD - Error message: "Could not start file system&quo

Although I tried everything which is described in the workarounds in the InCD 4 – FAQ – file ( changed "cConnectTimeout" in the registry ), InCD does not start on my system. Several times I uninstalled, cleaned with InCD-cleaner and reinstalled the latest version. – Till now InCD always worked perfect on my system. I tried also to reinstall an elder version, but it failed, too. Before the failure appeared I installed the Demo-version of Nero 7, but deinstalled it and reinstalled Nero 6 newest update. An other reason may be, that I installed WebDrive (a program which handles an web drive like a local drive with a letter). But although I uninstalled WebDrive, InCD still does not work. I can read the files on my old DVDs, formatted with an elder version of InCD, but could not format or copy the files to the DVD. (write protection error).

I use InCD 4.3.30.1

Sorry, gave up on the app more than a year ago... can't help other than passing on this advice...

InCD is evil, never worked well for anyone in this forum. Don't use it.

Hi tazdevl,
Thank you very much for your clear, definite, explicit and palpably tip – but do you have an alternative – free of charge?

Seriously... quit using it. You will only regret it in the end. There are many tales of woe in this forum regarding InCD.

Only other option I can think of is to download JV16 Powertools... clean out all Nero Reg Entries manually and try to reinstall. My guess is that you borked your registry by not rebooting after a uninstall or running a cleaner... or the Nero cleaner did the borking... I had problems after using one of them after going from 6.6 to 7 then back to 6.6.

Where did you get InCD 4.3.30.1.?
THe version listed at http://ww2.nero.com/nero6/us/nero-up.php is 4.3.20.1 for Nero 6.

Is 4.3.30.1 for Nero 7?

I'm guessing that's just a typo.

Nero 7 comes with InCD 5

Yes, it is a typo.
My version of InCD is 4.3.20.1 (not 4.3.30.1)

I understand, that InCD-Cleaner does not work, if I want to go back from Demoversion of Nero 7 (including InCD 5) to Nero 6 with InCD 4.3.20.1, so once you have installed the Demoversion of Nero7, you never can use your old version of InCD. That could not be. I do not belive it.
