Nero 7.5.4.0 Installation Errors and Issues

Upgrade install from the previous version to 7.5.4.0, received the following errors.

Also, even after identifying a legit license key, install windows and taskbar at bottom of page say "Nero 7 DEMO". It also says Nero 7 Demo in the Add/Remove menu.

Do I need to say anything? Update is later than previously indicated by 5 weeks and seems to have the EXACT same errors when trying to do an upgrade installation over a previous version.

Only way to not get the installation errors is to use the clean tool, reboot and reinstall.

I get the same errors when I sinstall Nero 7 while Webroot Spysweeper is active. I have to usually go into msconfig and disable spysweeper...reboot...install Nero...reboot and reactivate Spysweeper. For some reason...Webroot has made it so Spysweeper will block certain writings to the system registry. Not a big deal...give it a try....If you don't use Spysweeper...try temporarily disabling your spyware. Don't just shut it down...turn it off...then try the install again

I'm not sure if SpySweeper 4.5 is the culprit of the errors. Last time I tried an update installation (over previous version), ran into the same thing. Uninstalling, running the Nero 7 Clean Tool, rebooting and reinstalling resulted in no errors. Update installation caused the errors.

Odd though that they were never seen prior to Nero 7. It might behoove Nero/Ahead to ensure that once installed, the app plays well with the latest version of SpySweeper in addition to checking with SpySweeper conflucts during install.

Nero Scout is still installed even when the box is unchecked. This is a invasive feature and should be on the custom install menu. Have to edit the registry to make it go away.

Anyway, still frustrating given the extra time Ahead/Nero took to release this version and lack of polish on minor issues that require very little in the way of code changes.

Each and every time I update Nero 7...I have to disable Spysweeper 4.5. Even the tech people at Nero admitted to me that Spysweeper will not let Nero write certain values to the registry. So I just disable...update Nero and re-enable. No biggie...as long as I remember to do it this way...Nero knows about it...just don't understand why they don't contact Webroot and fix it.

Bob

Also...another way to disable Scout. Go into Windows explorer...right click on scout and uncheck it. I never see it running...

Yeah... the issue I have is that if you uncheck scout in the last install dialog it still gets installed. I use the regfix for it.

Just delete the features instead

Did they change out programmers or something? It's almost as if they have no idea what they are doing any more. NERO has always been rock stable and feature packed all the way through 6.x.x.x. This 7.x.x.x thing is like out of a cartoon or something.
