backitup 2.0.0.0 restore drive boot disk

I have created a backitup isolinux boot disk in 2.0.0.0 and 2.0.4.3 and backitup says it was created ok each time.

However, when I boot using these CD's it says that it can't find the program files and to insert the second disk.

I'm not very knowledgable with linux but it seems like the process can't find the nbr_bin file which is 'outside' the current environment on the CD it booted from. <-- ya, I really have no idea what I'm talking about ;)

Any ideas?

At this point I'm willing to dive head first in to creating my own linux boot disk that loads nbr_bin (whether that's a full binary or just an image of different binaries) or pulling what is in nbr_bin out and sticking it on my own boot disk. I would just need some pointing in the right direction.

Hi DocHoliday,

Hmm, that is a hard issue to debug, especially as I'm unable to duplicate this issue with the same Nero BIU 2.0.0.0 and 2.0.4.3.

We are about to post a new release on our website in the next 5 days, more or less, but I can not say if this will resolve your issue as I'm not yet sure what the issue is exactly. I may need to have you send me a copy of one of those backups so I can see what is going on.

What model Recorder do you have, and what brand of media are you using?

If you use our "Verify Backup" feature in Nero BIU, does it report the backup as good to use for restoring?

Regards,

Craig
