Create ISO image with Nero 7

I have searched around and cannot find this answer for Nero 7.

Is there still a way to create and ISO image instead of an NRG image with Burning ROM 7?

When I choose Image Recorder the only Save As choice is NRG and I cannot seem to find a way to change this in Options.

Thanks.

Hi VideoRoy,

Same as before. :-)

Just launch Nero Burning ROM, select the Data CD or Data DVD option, add your files, select the 'Image Recorder' as the destination device, and then click BURN. When the 'Save As' window comes up, use the drop down box next to 'File Type' and select the .ISO file type. Then burn.

Regards,

Craig

craig you have fast hands, or maybe its because i was at work all day with my (shall i say) uninformed customers of my own

i spent a good 5 minutes with a customer trying to reassure him that no matter what he did his AGP video card wouldn't work in our computers that all have pci express slots

he went on to tell me he had seen somewhere that a agp to pci express slot adapter was available, long story short... i killed him

Sorry, as usual I was not very clear in my description. I am familar with creating and ISO image by creating a compilation.

During a DVD Copy is there a way to create and ISO? I only get .NRG as an option.

I spent many years as a tech support engineer and for the past 10 years I have been a developer and manage developers for one of the top technical companies in the world.

I spend a considerable amount of time checking on a problem before I give up and ask for help. I do not take help from Craig and the forum lightly and I have discovered a number of bugs that I have reported here.

I appreciate the help I do get here since it free and do not expect that I am owed anything except a little respect.

Please keep your flip answers to yourself.

Oh and BTW here is a link the adapters we use on the boards we develop to use in our test rigs. Our price is <$25 and will allow the conversion that your "uninformed customer" was referring to.

http://www.adexelec.com/extenders.htm

If you paid $400 - $500 for a video card then this will help recoup some of your investment.

Hi VideoRoy,

Sorry, I should have added a side note about Copy options. And you are correct, there is no option in Nero to create an ISO from a CD or DVD Copy operation.

Sorry. :(

Craig

Thanks for the confirmation. I must have been thinking back to version 5 because 6 does not appear to have it either.

After the last 2 updates Nero 7 appears to be working better in a couple of areas for me so I am happy with the progress.

It does appear that some installation anomalies have been introduced if you try to update over the previous install but an unistall / reinstall seems to solve.

Thanks for the help.

wouldn't it be simpler to use another utility for creating ISO images ?

what DVD are you copying?
maybe you can use DVD Decrypter?
it will definitely work for making an ISO of a Video DVD, haven't tried doing that with a data DVD ... i wonder if it will work...

making a iso from data dvd should be exactly the same, since decrypter is making an iso from the disk it doesn't care what is actually on it

i make isos from xbox games all the time with decrypter and then burn the iso again with decrypter, so should be all the same
