NeroVision 4.7.0.16 crashes opening NRG image

I have created several NRG image files using NeroVision. And they all work fine when I burn them using Nero Burning ROM.

But when I load Nero Vision and select "Open Saved Project or Disk Image" and open an NRG image I get the crash dialog:

Code: Select all
NeroVision.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close.  We are sorry for the inconvenience.

AppName: nerovision.exe    AppVer: 4.7.0.16    ModName: expressui.dll
ModVer: 4.7.0.16    Offset: 0005e9d6

I did a search in the forum for "VISION NRG OPEN IMAGE" and did not find a report of this problem. This problem started about 6 months ago and I've been hoping a new version fixes it eversince.

I know I can use Burning ROM but I thought someone should either make this option work or remove it from Nero Vision.

Hi Badolero,

I was able to easily duplicate your issue, and I created a bug entry on this. Our Engineers have already begun working on this issue, and have found the cause. I expect the next update to Nero 7 to be posted on our website should have this issue resolved.

Regards,

Craig

STILL IS A PROBLEM

Thank you CCampbell:

After reading your message I promptly downloaded the new version 7.7.5.1. Now the following error message is displayed:

The image is invalid or corrupt

Even with a newly created image file :(

Still a problem

This issue has NOT been resolved in the latest version

Indeed it hasn't. Well, let's hope for a fix in the next version... it's been a while since this current one came out, and you'd hope some progress would've been made in the time. This issue has been irritating me, as well.

Hi Everyone,

Sorry about that. Our engineers thought they had it fixed, but at the last minute could not provide the fix intime for the last web release we had.

Our next web update that should be posted within the next week or so will have this fixed. I've already tested this with a beta release to confirm it's working this time. :-)

Regards,

Craig

Good to hear. By the way, will this next update finally contain a profile for encoding AVC files for the 5.5G iPod (640x480)? I imagine many windows users have been waiting for that for a while, given there are so few other options available.
