copeing a cd

hi
i want to copy a copyrighted cd with nero 6.i tried to make 6 copies.2
can out ok the other 4 didnt come out ok.im doing this because the
master cd is old and isnt produced anymore so im using these copy-
ies as a back up.any suggestions?thanks

Are you referring to an audio cd?

If so, I like this program http://www.exactaudiocopy.de/

Another option would be to copy the original to your hard drive as a disc image. Either .nrg or .iso, and then burn copies from the disc image.

It is unclear from your message if the disc is difficult to read due to poor condition or of there is some other issue.

its scrabble and when i try to copy it it cant open up.its not an audio cd.4
that i have nero 6.the disc is in good condition and plays well by itself.is
there another program that can do this??tanks

It seems odd to me that the first 2 copies worked and the other 4 didn't. Copy protection may not be the problem.

Data or audio CD, it would probably worthwhile making an image of it first before burning.

When doing a disc copy in Nero, you can have it create an image first. Actually, I think it does this by default.

Otherwise you can use the image recorder to create an image and then go back and burn it.
