utilising 2 DVD burners

hi
in the old days of DOS backing up was to floppies BUT the cool backup programs let you use 2 floppies drives & the program toggled between the 2 drives so that you could load the next drive with your floppy so that there was no or little down time.

I've never really "likes" windows backups but these days the files can get huge. It would be great if Nero could use the DVD drives in a similar way it the hardware was present OR even if you had several burners or hard drive added but USB ports like I do. You could flag the drives to use & just walk away or even go to bed. the job would be backup & even verified. How cool would that be. Cant you get the program to use whatever medium is there & available? This would make life so much better. I have some 11.5 gigs of date not including video. Stuff that I like to back up to medium that is away from the machine.

Is there a way to do this?

Thanks

Hi Danw500,

If you mean for the Nero BackItUp program to start backing up to one drive, and then when that disc is full, to continue the backup on another drive that has media in it, then the answer is no it does not support this.

It must continue the backup with the original destination drive, though it will accept any form of media. So you could start with a CD disc, and then for the second disc insert a DVD-R disc, and then the third you could insert a DVD-RAM disc, etc....

Or you could backup to multiple drives at the same time. Up to 31 drives if you have the Retail version.

To continue backup to another drive, that would take a new feature request.

Regards,

Craig

thanks Craig
it would have been nice to load up the DVD burners & just let it go. many people have one than one burner these days & of course you can add more by USB. it takes so long to back up data by burning. I seldom use this method. thanks for your reply
