I too get this errmsg in the log file.
Nero 8 crashes 30 or 40 min into a NeroVision 5 attempt to create a DVD-Video from 3 100mb .wmv files.
Nero 8 will burn CDs fine. It will burn a data DVD fine. So it's not the media i'm using.

I have XPPro SP3 and an NEC3550A burner.

I've seen a lot of similar forum chat pointing to SP3 as the culprit. But then several people have uninstalled it, and still had the same error. Others thought their burners had failed, replaced them and, still same problem.

One very interesting fact: A few minutes ago, I happened on a thread at CDFreaks from 2 0 0 4 on the same topic!

Nero is seemingly never going to admit to the extent of the problem or solve it.
Some brilliant soul will someday figure out that a certain mix of codecs causes it or maybe points us to a new prog that works.

Yeah this error has been plaguing Nero users for years. One solution I've read is to disable smart encoding.

I don't suppose you have an error log do you?
