I just noticed yesterday, there is a new (?) Free package available for download from Nero, called "Nero Kwik Media". File Size is 178319.61 KBytes. Name of file is "Nero_KwikMedia-10.6.11000_free.exe"

It's been out for a few weeks but I haven't tried it yet either. It looks like the truly useful stuff (DVD and Blu-ray playback, etc) are apps you have to pay for.
