Is 3.51 still limited to RW media?

Isn't InCD itself only for RW media? I mean, what can it do with write-once media?

I haven't really tried, but the GUI says CD-RW/DVD-RW so I don't think so. Not to mention, when I put in a CD-R disc, nothing popped up like when you put in a CD-RW.

I know Ahead is working on a new version of InCD. That might be a feature you could suggest to them.

well, DirectCD can packet-write to CDR media, so why should'nt InCD?

not that i see any point to doing that.

well, one that i can think of is that the UDF filesystem is less restrictive on filenames than the Joliet. so i can packet-write files with long names which i can't do simply by bunring with Nero.

Haven't used packet writing for about two years. I was not aware of such difference.

well, i've written to a CDRW disc with DirectCD (version 4 i think) many files without giving any thought to filename length. when i copied the files to the HD and tried to backup to CD with Nero, many could not be written because of the Joliet limitation on length of filename.

i think the packet writing uses the UDF filesystem, which does have limitations on filenames, but less restrictive than Joliet.

nowadays to back up i just zip all these files into one huge zipfile before i burn.
