Can Lite-On's do Test/Test and Burn in NERO?

Hey all, im a little confused. My new buslink 48x drive (which is a lite-on) doesn't appear to have the ability to test/test and burn in nero... the options are grayed out for me.

Is that just how they are or what? It seems a little strange that they wouldn't be able to do it..

Edit: actually i guess it can, just not using the wizard right? i see the simulate checkbox in the more advanced way of burning things.. heh, sorry im bad at explaining.

You must first disable the Buffer Underrun Prevention feature before you can select Simulation or Determine Max Speed features in Nero.

is this true just for the Lite-On drives or for all drives?

I've never had to turn off the buffer underrun prevention to run those tests, but I never use the wizards either.

It must depend on the drive. For my Memorex 48x24x48 (LiteOn LTR-48246S) which can not have buffer-underrun protection turned off, I don't have to turn it off (good thing :) ) to simulate or determine max speed. For my Yamaha CRW-3200EZ which can have buffer-underrun protection turned off, I do have to turn it off to enable simulation and speed determination.

Frankly, though, I can't remember the last time I actually did run either test in a real-life situation.

On my Lite-On LTR48125, sometimes the options are grayed out ... but they activate when I exit Nero and call it again.

You can make appear test (simulation) or Disable Buffer Underrun Protection options when are greyed out if you click on Use Multiple Burners.

Then you only need to choose your LiteOn drive when Nero asks for wich burner it will use.

WOW, Alejandra, that is a VERY useful tip!
thanks (on behalf of all Lite-On owners, one of which i am not  )

by the way where is the "use multiple burners" button?
does it exist only if you actually DO have more than one burner in your system?

It appears in a window on "burn tab" when you choose non-wizard mode, I don't remember if this option comes with the OEM version.

Most OEMs do not have this Multiple Recorder Support feature. But some, such as TDK bundles, the OEMs preferred to offer this to their customers so requested it to be part of their OEM bundle. ( A small extra fee charged to them, of course, but worth it for their End Users)
