problem w/ Nero 5.5 and Liteon 48x24x48

Im a beginner at this, so please bear with me.

I am trying to burn what would seem to be a simple data CD off my hard drive, and my burner will not burn at anything higher than 8x. Below is a log file of errors that get generated, hopefully some knowledgable folks here can point me in the right direction.

As far as hardware I am using, I have the Liteon burner, Abit NF-7 mobo, win xp with SP1. The burner is a master on an IDE channel, with a 48x cd/dvd rom drive as the slave (though currently this is swapped, as a friend suggested trying to make the burner the slave).

Anyway, here is the log file:

i suggest you make sure it is.
