Is is always every third CD, or is just approximately 1 out of each 3 CDs that your machine freezes?

What brand of discs are you using? You may need to try another brand. I would recommend Fuji or Imation.

Imation, Imation.

NO WAY. Those are the worst disks in the world. My friend got a 50 pack, and ONE disk was good. Do yourself a favor and do not use Imation.

Also, what kind of crashing is it? ex: blue screen, burning program crash?

What OS is this?

I am sorry to hear that your friend had bad Imation discs. However, I have gotten better results with 32x Imation discs than with any other discs, and I have used many types of good media (Fuji, TDK, etc.).

What burner are you using, what firmware on the burner, and what burning software?

It does this even in the CD.
My CD-RW Sony CRX-210e1 - the original firmware.
My CD-Rom Teac 532e-b -again the original firmaware.
Everything work fine a week ago. I haven't change nothing or install anything.

Try updating your recording software to the latest version or re-installing your recording software.

You've probably got some sort of software or driver conflict, maybe something got corrupted so now it just freezes when it does whatever is causing your problem. You might want to make sure your ASPI layer is installed and still good, it can cuase problems with some stuff when it's missing or bad. You could also havve a hardware problem, something going bad slowly or even a stick of memory doing the same thing. Unfortunately lots of things can cuase it, try the cheap and easy stuff first.

Thanks. But how to check the ASPI layer?

Nero's info tool will show you what layer is installed and I'm sure you can poke around your OS and find it also but I don't remember how.
If it's not there or whatever you can use force aspi to install the 4.60 layer from Adaptec.
I have it and it doesn't seem to cause any problems with anything except making programs that need it work properly, programs that don't will just ignore it.

I also had 2 out of 20 of them work. Both are HP Burners:
4x4x16 and 10x4x32
