I have purchased a new pc from Tiger Direct, which turns out to be an HP (with the labels all covered up). It has the MS-6579 motherboard and, after HOURS of searching, I cannot find a single place to DL the driver. HP has done some kind of cover up on this, cuz they've removed all reference to it on their site.

Anyone know where to find this driver??

Thanks

You may already have a manual for the MSI MS-6549 motherboard, but if not, you can download one at OEM Motherboards Used by HP.

You may be able to identify which HP model you have by going to How do I find my product number? and then clicking on "hp pavilion pcs". If you can locate the number using the information at "HP Pavilion Desktop PCs - How Do I Find the Model Number?" then you can do a driver search at HP using their model number.

There is no information on OEM motherboards, but drivers may be available by HP model number.

The Pavilion 792 has no driver updates listed except a "LT Data+Fax Modem driver update to resolve system restarts" and firmware for a DVD player. Perhaps there are no new drivers for this model/motherboard.

The original drivers can be restored using the instructions at Use the HP recovery process to install original drivers and software.

I bought just the board online used, and had a heck of a time finding drivers. The board is a misfit. But these drivers seem to be working so far. Go to www.msi.com.tw then support and then drivers. Under drivers go to System and Chipset Drivers and download Intel INF Driver. Then click On-Board Lan Driver and download Realtek 8139 Lan Driver (For your operating system) if you have Windows xp use Win2000. Then click On-Board Audio Drivers and download Realtek Avance ALC 101/101T/201A/202A/650 AC 97 Audio Drivers And finally go back to System and Chipset Drivers and download Intel USB 2.0 Driver (for your operating system). If you have Windows xp you will have to go to Windows Update and download Windows XP SP1 for the USB 2.0 to work. I know these are not the exact drivers for this board but they work.

Good Luck
