Computer Universe does ship to Israel but it is 35 Euro for a 1 kilo package. A kilo is about 2.2 pounds.

I don't see anything on buy.com about shipping internationally, but maybe I missed it. Amazon.com and Amazon.co.uk ship internationally

You would want to buy from UK I would assume since it is closer to Israel.

anyways they don't have the product i had in mind.
aviationwiz wrote:I don't see anything on buy.com about shipping internationally, but maybe I missed it.
the only thing i see is:
buy.com wrote:Please Note: These charges do not apply to International Shipments.
http://www.buy.com/corp/support/shipping/tables.asp?what=much
apart from this i found nothing about international shipping either.

last time i checked, amazon ships internationally but only CDs, books etc., not electronics products.
maybe this has changed? i'll look it up
Amazon.com wrote:Geographical Shipping Restrictions

Warranty issues and manufacturer restrictions prevent us from shipping certain products to all geographical locations. Below are some general guidelines. Please also check the product detail pages for any other applicable item-specific shipping restrictions.

Toys, games, and video games can be shipped only to locations within the U.S., U.S. protectorates, and APO/FPO addresses.

Electronics, camera and photo items, kitchen and housewares items, outdoor living items, software (including games), and tools and hardware can be shipped within the U.S. only. Some can also be shipped to U.S. protectorates and APO/FPO addresses. You'll be notified while placing your order if we're unable to ship specific items to the address you've selected.

Cell phones and service, computers, jewelry, magazines, and items from the Target and Marshall Field's at Amazon.com stores can be shipped only to locations within the U.S. and cannot currently be shipped to APO/FPO addresses or Puerto Rico.

no good to me either.

All I can suggest is PriceWatch, find a vendor that has the speakers you want and see if they ship internationally. Before you order from them, check their rating on BizRate or ResellerRatings. This method requires more research to be done, but by shopping around for the best deal, you could save a bundle.

Allow me to pontificate on why overseas shipments are not made. Several years ago, my Discover card number was used by a group of thieves to make a number of purchases. As my physical card was never out of my possesion, I didn't realize this until it would not work at my local supermarket. The security algorithm had detected an unusal series of purchases that was out of my profile and had closed further usage. I called Discover and refused all the bogus charges. Among these was a purchase from a small business not experienced in the fraud of these rings of international thieves. As a result, he accepted an order for some merchandise to be delivered to Southeast Asia. He was totally left holding the bag as there is no way to collect or prosecute in these countries.

I don't expect that he will ever ship outside the USA again.

Wizard,
thanks, but that would probably be a LOT of work, i was hoping maybe someone actually knows a place that does this.
(there are probably MANY more places that have that product than places that ship internationally...)

Cowbow,
yeah, i understand...

Here are a few online stores that ship internationally and that have the speakers you are looking for: either the Altec Lansing ATP3, 2100 or Logitech Z540, Z640. I used Pricewatch to find these vendors, and it didn't take very long to do so. Enjoy. :)

http://www.axiontech.com - Accepts wire transfer only for international orders. Must purchase through Email or telephone, no web-based ordering for international shipment.
http://www.resellerratings.com/seller2097.html

http://www.directron.com - Accepts wire transfer or international money orders. Again, must purchase through Email or telephone, no web-based ordering for international shipment.
http://www.resellerratings.com/seller2114.html

http://www.wiredzone.com - They may be the only company that accepts international credit cards.
http://www.resellerratings.com/seller2118.html

http://www.monarchcomputer.com - International shipping is currently suspended, but will supposedly be reinstated by the end of this month.

i'll check them out.

thanks for going to all that trouble (i was going to do like you suggested when i've got a little more time)...

It's not that much trouble, I enjoy doing it. :)

I did find this store selling the Klipsch 2.1 speakers, they do offer international shipping in some instances; although from the looks of it, they will only accept wire transfer and/or international money order.

thanks once again.

out of curiousity, resellerrating.com rates Micro Pro:
7.84 six-month rating (customer statisfaction).
6.83 lifetime rating.
based on 261 reviews.

as i have absolutely no experience in such matters, are these considered good ratings? would you buy from such a place?

strange.
i went to pricegrabber.com -> Computers -> Multimedia -> Speakers, and using the filter Manufacturer = Klipsch, the 2.1 set is not listed!!!
there are 2 4.1 and 2 5.1 sets, but not the 2.1 set.

am i doing something wrong?

dodecahedron heres the link for the 2.1 set.

http://www.pricegrabber.com/search_attrib.php?page_id=134&form_keyword=Klipsch++2.1+&ut=0cd8c56aca68792c

All that I did was search for Klipsch 2.1.

thanks, David.
strange, because when looking it up by category as i did it doesn't show up. i conclude something is messed up with their database/search function, not with my understanding of it...

OK. the link David provided (Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 Speaker set on pricegrabber.com) has 3 companies, none of which ship internationally.
i guess no 2.1 Klipsch for me...

thanks again for all the help from everyone who posted on this topic.
i'ts much appreciated. :D

The six-month rating is good, I would also check some recent user reviews before ordering from Micro Pro. After looking at the recent user reviews on ResellerRatings, I see they have about 20 positive reviews and only 3 negative ones in the last three months, which is very good. Also, if you look at the negatives, one of them was partly the customer's fault; for security reasons, many companies won't accept different billing and shipping addresses, therefore I cannot blame Micro Pro for being careful.

My final verdict, I would order from Micro Pro without hesitation. My only advice for you, dodecahedron, would be to call or Email them (which you have to do anyway for an international order). By calling or Emailing you get a feel for how good or bad their customer service is. If you are satisfied, place the order.

P.S. I found another online vendor that sells internationally - www.outpost.com. Fry's Electronics owns Outpost.com, and if you have been browsing the Hot Deals forum, you know Fry's is well-known for great prices and great service. In my experience, Outpost.com is the same way. Outpost does not have the Klipsch speakers you want, but they do have the Altec Lansing ATP3. On a better note, they make no mention of not accepting international credit cards, so you may be able to use your credit card with them. Much easier than a wire transfer, isn't it?

thanks again Wizard for your help and assistance.

by the way, did contact Micro Pro by email, they don't ship internationally, despite the misleading info on their site.

thanks for the tip about outpost.com , good to know of a reputable place that ships int'l. there aren't many.

but like you said, they don't carry the Klipsch products.
the others - Altec Lansing, Logitech etc. can be got here too.

i'm thinking of the Altec Lansing ATP3, while here it goes for some $120 vs. around $60 in the US, the headache of international shipping, customs issues/charges etc. and the discomfort of warrantee/service/RMA - well it's just not worth it, i'll get them here.
i still feel i'm getting a good bargain. they're going for $120 now, just a month or so ago they were $165 !!!

Inertia is on to something with the local Klipsch distributor. Definitely check them out, it sure as heck beats international shipping.

It is nearly always much cheaper for us to order internationally than to buy it locally. Klipsch speakers, HP printers, Linksys Wireless LAN, Supermicro dual boards, NEC DVD writers, Ritek DVD+R media, Newsweek, Nanao LCD, Penguin Books, etc. And that is so even considering FedEx from overseas to South Korea is minimum US$30. In 2001, Crucial DDR memory modules via FedEx costed one third to one fifth of Samsung DDR memory in Seoul. Linksys 54Mbps AP four times as expensive as Amazon.

For you, Kennyshin, perhaps. For dodecahedron, perhaps not. :)

I know for my friend in Singapore, it is cheaper for him to buy RAM, CPU's, motherboards, hard drives, just about any kind of computer hardware in the US and have it shipped to him rather than buying locally in Singapore. This baffles me. Why is it cheaper to buy computer hardware, which was probably made in Singapore to begin with, in the US? I look at my Maxtor hard drive and it says "Made in Singapore". Yet the local shops in Singapore charge an arm and a leg for the same hard drive! I realize the business behind it all, but come on, it's ridiculous! It only benefits Americans! I said to my friend, "Go to the Maxtor factory in Singapore and take some hard drives!" He doesn't have to steal them, he'll pay the factory what they charge for the drives here in the States.
