i want to install firmware on my LG writer 52x24x52x

they say :

1.Have the CD-RW Drive connected to the secondary IDE channel as a master drive alone.

I'm wondering what the secondary is ....

Is it, on that IDE cable, the middle or the last connector ?

The secondary ide channel is the second ide port conector on the motherboard where the ide cable plugs into. The master device would be the conector on the end of the cable.

Of the selected burners on the poll I say Lite-On, all the burners I have that funtion though are listed on my signiture.

i've installed the firmware
thx for the explanation.

in easy cd creator i selected 48x for writing speed and only get 6 or 7x
why ?
when i use the program nero it's slow too

Check to make sure you have dma enabled.
