They break easily, they won't help you, low quality.

I won't tell you about the HP's we bought at work.

aviationwiz, I thought for sure you'd wait for Plextor to put out a laptop.

I know HP isn't perfect, nothing is. I have had the best luck with HP though.

And if Plextor made a laptop, I'm sure it would completely suck, same as if Lite-On put out a laptop. They know what thier doing when it comes to optical drives, not when it comes to other stuff. Now if I could get my hands on a Plextor Premium-U...

J/K, I won't be burning on it, even if I did have a CD burner in it.

Actually Lite-On does a lot more than just optical drives:

They even give out awards. Ladies and gentlemen, presenting the 2001, 2002 and 2003 Lite-On Awards:

When was the last time Plextor gave out an award?

People actually entered some pretty cool designs in the competitions:

(I think the 2001 crop - the first link - was better.)

The 2003 competition is still open for entries, I think, but you have to be Chinese to enter.

How often do you hear people saying they got a Lite-On motherboard, how often do you hear people sayinng they got an Asus motherboard.

Thank You.

Lite-On is famous for optical drives, that's what thier good for, they are just trying to make money in other markets. Thier expertise lies in Optical Drives.

Just because you only know Lite-On for their optical drives doesn't mean they aren't successful in other markets. Lite-On got their start manufacturing computer parts for the OEM market and they still do quite well. I wouldn't be surprised if your new laptop comes with a Lite-On power supply. My Dell has one. Ever hear of the Lite-On FS-020? Probably one of the best computer cases at the time.

Thank you. Come again.

Oh, yeah, that does remind me, I had a Lite-On PSU in my old HP P3 600MHZ comp.
