will it work?

i am thinking of gettting
AMD ATHLON XP 2600+ Barton 333MHz FSB PROCESSOR
will the CPU work on my current mobo Asus a7v333

The processor will work in your current mobo.
You can see for yourself using AMD's processor recomended motherboard lookup here.

Yes, it will support it, but you will need a firmware update. You can check the CPU support here:

Personally, I think you'd be better off with an nForce 2 based board like the A7N8X. Putting a CPU like that in a KT333 based board is like putting a V8 in a Honda Civic.

Why don't you get a Barton 2500+? It's cheaper and overclocks better.

nah i think i done enough upgrading i use to have A7V setup with 1.1GHZ Tbird . ill think i will use this computer for a couple years like 3 to 4 then just build a new. or when the barton price drop then i will get one
