Sandisk USB2.0 Flash Drive Running @ USB1 on XP

I have a Sandisk USB 2.0 256MB Cruzer Mini Flash Disk but file transfer tests show that the drive is running at approximately 8MB/s. I purchased a USB2.0 card from Newegg (some Name brand one with a green box, forgot the name).

Anyway, I was wondering what else I've to do to make this run at full speed. I got the Sandisk from Dell when it was $43 and I want to maximize speed. Are there some USB2.0 drivers I'm missing for XP? Thanks in advance..

Actually, that sounds about right. Even their "high-speed" drives only hit ~13MB/Sec (their new "Titanium" drives).

Flash drives are slow, period.

See here for a quick review of the 512MB version:

Note the average sustained speed: 3.6MB/sec.

They're not hard drives, or even CD-RW drives. But they are small, and convient.
