I just got my new LCD screen in today. Does anyone know of some tests to check for dead pixels and etc? I want to fully test everything out within the return period before I share my new toy with the forum. Thanks.

It's a nice flat panel, my colleague got one too when it was on sale, from the looks of it, it didn't have any dead pixels.

Don't know of anything to test for it though! :(

Some Japanese monitor makers might provide such tools, at least Eizo did have one I know. I forgot the name. Maybe Viewsonic also has one.

The best way to find dead pixels is to use a test pattern of a solid yellow color (the dead pixels are the most evident on it)

Also a try a light blue test pattern

there's dark & lite dead pixels too ... best check against different plain backgrounds...
