does anyone know of any websites that do good reviews of scanners?
i've done some googlig and found some reviews. but they're all crappy.

i was looking for thorough reviews kiind of like what Ian does here for optical drives. am i expecting too much?

the best i saw was at Tom's Hardware, but that was just 2 reviews = not the models i want.

Hello, "Dodecahedron"

if you interested in scanning film and pictures, i.e. - photography oriented scanning, check this out: http://www.imaging-resource.com/SCAN1.HTM - these reviews are actually done by people who DO HAVE A CLUE about photography, most of the ones I looked at are done very well. (They also do very good tests & reviews of cameras (digital, as well as film based [though of course there are fewer and fewer of the latter ones).
3 other (photography related) sites (mostly cameras, etc, but occasionaly a scanner or two) are:
http://www.dpreview.com/
http://www.steves-digicams.com/digi_accessories.html
http://www.robgalbraith.com/bins/index.asp
In case you want to know more about film scanning, software, etc, check Ian Lyons' excellent tutorials:
http://www.computer-darkroom.com/

that's all for now - good luck!

thanks navio.
no, i'm not interested in negative/slide scanning.
thanks for the links to the websites. actually, i'm familiar with those websites (from the days i was studying to by my first digital camera).
not much info about scanners there, and when there is it's mostly negative scanners. oh well.

neoseeker seems to be nothing, just price lists, tech specs or extremely brief reviews, just like others i have found.
it apprears that serious scanner reviews are a rarity. found only 2 or so at Tom's Hardware, 2 or so at XbitLabs.
