Pros/Cons of having both a CD-RW and a DVD-RW Drives?

Building a new system and will have a ASUS DVD-E616P2 DVD-ROM and a NEC ND-3500A DVD-RW. Are there any pros/cons to also installing my old ASUS CRW-4816A CD-RW Drive? I'll be burning many more CD's than DVD's.

Thanks for any replies!

I see no problems if you have a empty channel where you can connect the CD-RW drive.BTW,if you have a DVD burner which can burn CD's too,why do you want a CD-RW drive?

I see only Pro's with having a CD-RW and a DVD Burner in the same system.

If you've got the room put it in. I mean why not, you can possibly burn more than one disc at the same time (if you need copies of the same disc). And CD-RW drives typically put out higher quality CD burns than DVD burners, and at higher speeds. Besides, what are you gonna get for that drive? $10-15 maybe if you sell it, or it will just sit in your closet/on your shelf. Unless you can donate it to a friend or relative that can put it to use, you may as well use it yourself. Just my two cents.

I can't disagree with what you just said.

In my PC with both a LiteOn LTR-52246S and LiteOn SOHW-812S, I prefer using the LTR-52246S for audio extraction from a copy controlled CD (Cactus Data Shield), where the SOHW812S failed.
