Today, we bring you a review of Ritek's first DataPlay-enabled device, the TOPY Mini Writer. Offering big storage in a very small package, the TOPY Mini Writer lets you store up to 500MB of data onto a disc the size of a quarter. In this review we take a look at some of the features found on the TOPY Mini Writer and then see how it performs. Is it the right choice for you? You'll have to read the review to find out.

If anyone knows where to buy DataPlay media in the US (other than eBay), please PM or email me.

Thanks for the review. I have a few questions:

The 500MB disks are double sided?
Is that 250MB per side?
Is the 2nd side treated as a separate disk?
Do you have to flip the disk over to write to the other side?

Yes to all.

If a disk the size of a quarter can store 500MB, I want a disc the size of a normal CD that can store x times more...I really need a good backup solution (and would really rather not resort to DDS/DLT anymore).

They already have one. It's called a DVD. :D
