New HP printer - text is not as sharp as old HP printer

I just got a new HP Deskjet 6940 and I've been printing a lot of CD inserts and trays. In comparing them to ones printed on my old Deskjet 960, the pictures are much better and the colors are much richer, but the text is noticeably less sharp and defined. Is this a problem with a lot of the new HPs?

your using the 96/97 cartridges right?

those cartridges are the best of the 2 cartridge systems

you using nice quality paper?

you have the printing preferences setup correctly?

ohh quick tidbit, our best buy store now carries the new epson r series printers

they use the new HD claria print cartridge system:
http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/Land ... Cookie=yes

and like usual they all print on cds

here are the 3 that we sell:
R260: http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/cons ... d=63059188

R380: http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/cons ... d=63059188

RX580: http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/cons ... d=63059193

and talking to our epson rep were going to carry the new picturemates:
PM240: http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/cons ... d=63059184

PM280: http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/cons ... d=63059185

the pm280 burns pictures directly to its built in cd burner

Hey hox, those last two links point to the same thing

Can that list one print to the cds it burns directly, no user need to flip the disc or anything?

And can it be used as an external burner, or just save pictures?

the pm280 can't print on cds at all, its just a picturemate that can burn the pictures you put into the card slots onto cds

and i don't think it can work as an external burner, but i have no idea, we don't have the pm280 yet, just the 240
