Just bought this laptop and wanted to know if the 2GBs of memory is enough to run Vista Ultimate that comes installed and is this going to limit the laptop? This laptop's max ram is the 2GB. Or if any of you has had any experience with HP and might be able to advise of issues. Oh, it comes with the 64 bit OS and the Geforce GO 7600 video card with 256 dedicated memory. Is this any good or am I going to experience problems? I paid 1650.00 for it and wanted the feed back cause that's a lot of lunch money.

Any advise will be helpful. Thanks in advance.

2GB should be fine for day to day stuff. The big killer with Vista is the eye candy, which that video card should handle without any problems.

Thanks for the response. So, overall you would consider this a good buy? And what do you consider the day to day stuff? I plan on using it for video/photo editing/creating, spreadsheets, word, and maybe burn movies. The reason I asked the original question was because I read that Vista 64 bit uses/consumes alot of the ram and I don't want to get stuck with an unit that is going to run out of memory. Thanks in advance for further imput.

I'm not sure if 64 bit uses more memory, but again 2GB should be enough for spreadsheets, word, etc. You may want more if you're encoding movies or editing videos. Then again, I do that with only 2GB of ram and I don't have any problems.

Took the HP back cause the DVD burner did not work. So, I ended trading it in for a Toshiba X205-S9349. Upgradable to 4GB for ram and it has the Nvidia 87M video card with 256MB. Will be delivered next wednesday.
