USB 3.0 Connector Diagrams From IDF
Posted: Fri Aug 22, 2008 6:49 pmOne of the new technologies on display at IDF was USB 3.0. At the presentation, Intel had a number of slides showing the new connectors. As you can see, USB 2.0/1.1 cables will work with USB 3.0 connectors. However, USB 3.0 cables will not work with older devices due to the extra pins. Here are some pics, courtesy of PC Watch:
