I think you can but if it takes DDR memory most boards use them in matched pairs then you use double Data Rate mode that runs the memory in like 128bit mode so it's like 10 or 15 percent faster. If you just stuff those extra memory sticks in it will slow down a bit because it will only be in single 64 bit mode. Also some boards HAVE to have certain types of memory sticks like double or single sided and things like that so you need to make sure it will actually work at all if it's mixed up or does it need them installed a certain way like 256 must go in slots 1 or 3 and like that as well.
You can just try it and maybe it will work fine or maybe it will throw a boot error and not post or whatever.
I'd check your manual or download it and see what it says you can use in it what combos.

Well you could try just uninstalling the card drivers then letting windows refind/install it again, sometimes that fixes issues.
IF that board has onboard sound make sure it's disabled or that could be part of your problems as well.

Well you might want to make sure you have the latest driver for it and it's the proper one. You might also want to find a forum for that card and see if anyone else is having the same problems with it that you are and hopefully what they did to fix it.
I'm using my onboard sound and luckily it's working well for me, haven't used a soundcard for a while now.
Good luck.

You may want to try a different PCI slot. I don't think memory should have any effects on installing the driver, but I could be wrong.

I agree. Your memory probably has nothing to do with the soundcard issues. Also, you already have a thread dealing with these issues. We don't need another.
