Abit KG7-RAID mobo help - will not boot

Hi!

I got an Abit KG7-RAID mobo for my dad as an upgrade with an Athlon XP 1700+ and 256mbPC2100 DDR. I've got a new case and installed everything. Time to powr on and I get a message that says the DDR slots are backwards and memory must be installed in DDR4 to DDR1 respectively. OK...so I swap the DDR to slot 4 and then I get nothing on screen. Reboot, clear CMOS...and still nothing. This has happened twice but I cannot get anything on the screen at all, even when I put the DDR back in slot 4. All I have installed is a Radeon 7000 (I have used a differnet card with the same problem) and nothing else.

Anyone know what this problem could be?

Help would be fantastic!!!

Thanks

Try re-seating the cpu and ram again. I know that when it doesn't post or nothing on the screen it's either CPU or RAM, if it's video card it'll beep like crazy.

For an ABIT motherboard, I would look at Paul's Unofficial
ABIT KG7-RAID FAQ. Go to http://www.sudhian.com/faqs.cfm/fid/4.sud. The FAQ's on that site are outstanding for the KG7 and KR7-RAID motherboards. It's the best thing I've found for the Abit boards (I have a KR7-RAID myself).
