Can I upgrade my PC by changing only the motherboard and the CPU ?
My old PC spec :
P3 866 Mhz
Gigabyte Motherboard
64 MB GeForce 2 MX 400 4X
256 MB PC 133 SDRAM
10.2 GB Samsung HDD

I planning to upgrade to AMD Athlon XP 2400+

My old motherboard is AGP 2x while my video card is AGP 4x . Will I feel the increase in speed if I change only the motherboard and CPU ? I'm planning to upgrade the RAM later . Can I use SDRAM on DDRAM motherboard ?

yes u surely can but i recommend that u wait for some time and upgrade to the upcoming K8 (athlon 64) processor and safe ur money

if u want to upgrade u have to buy a new motherboard with sdram(kt 133a ) chipset and anew processor but a sdram platform is upto 25% slower than a ddr platform(eg nforce 2 on the athlonxp 2400 cpu).

no. SDRAM and DDR-SDRAM memory modules are different and fit into differenet sockets.
there are a few motherboards that have slots for both SDRAM and DDR memory. that way you can upgrade the motherboard and reuse the older SDRAM memory, and upgrage the memory later.

i would suggest upgrading memory toghether with the mobo.
