Hidden Hyper Threading in Non-3.06 GHZ Pentium 4 CPU ?

Is it true that certain (with special serial number) Pentium 4 CPU below 3.06 GHZ have C-Stepping ? I heard that C-Stepping can be used to activate Hyper Threading to non 3.06 GHZ CPU . Is this true ? Can someone verify this ? Have someone done it ?

Nopes, there is nothing on the serial number yet. That just seems to be a fallacy.

ALL P4's have Hyperthreading, it's just disabled in the hardware. The Xeons are the only ones with it enabled below 3.06GHz. The slower P4's that some people are showing are just multiplier unlocked enginering samples. Check out the article on Hyperthreading at www.tomshardware.com...
