to be honest, if i could afford it i think there are a few Nokia models sold in India i'd prefer over the 6100.
like i said selection here (Israel) is slim... :( :o

6800, 6220 in particular looks nice, 7250 even more so.
(they probably all cost more than the 6100 though).

LOL...thanks for the offer! :D

i suggest you do not approach Sharon with a cellphone in hand...you will be shot! by his bodyguards most likely. :o

a few years ago the Israeli armed forces managed to kill (/take out /assasinate, take your pick) one of the foremost Palestinian terrorists/freedom fighters. it was with a cellphone that EXPLODED when he was called :o  pretty ingenious trick i think, and a source for many jokes here about cellphones.

let's hope Sharon's visit goes smooth (unlike some other visits of his) and serves only to strengthen the bonds of friendship that exist between Israel and India :D 8)

Amen to that!
He went back to Israel today though, cut his visit short.
The usual BIG Israeli bodyguards were around though,(have a few of them near my place anyway, lotsa diplomats stay around here), trying to look inconspicuous and failing miserably :D
One bad thing they did, they shut down the Israeli consulate here in Bombay. It had been here since 1953, and until India gave Israel full diplomatic recognition in 1992, it was the only Israeli mission in India, invaluable for Indian Jews. I have a few Jewish friends, and they want to do Aaliyah (is this spelt right?), and they're kinda pissed that they have to go to Delhi to get the visa.
On a happier note, Vajpayee gave Sharon a nice gift.It was a replica of a document from AD 379, giving Jews in the Cochin (south of India, in the state of Kerala) the right to own land, only a few years after they landed in India to escape Roman persecution. How cool is that?!
