Do Somersize instead:

http://www.suzannesomers.com/Somersize/

My wife's parents did it about 2 years ago. The both lost a ton of weight. My wife and I started it last July too. I won't even tell you how much weight I've lost.

Somercize has a lot more foods you can eat.. and most of the recipes taste pretty good.

I second that.

I dropped 47lbs on it in 6 months. I never even went to the gym. Never gave up alcohol or coffee. Now that's a program a guy can keep. Just drink in very moderate amounts. It's considerd a cheat, but it works.

Atkins is too restrictive (no carbs in the beginning etc).

Word. I love losing weight without working out. :D

I did give up beer though. For a Wisconsin boy, that is really hard.

Breakfast was usually a whole wheat bagel with fat free cream cheese. I'd usually have some fruit later in the morning.

Lunch was usually a salad from McDonalds. No croutons though. For awhile there I felt like the Jared of McDonalds.

Speaking of McDonalds salads.. those new ones are the shiz..

LOL !

I still live on 100% whole wheat bagels & Fat free cream cheese for breakfast. Or Raisin Bran with Skim Milk (aka: no Fat milk for the Americans).

Basic rule: Never mix Carbs & Proteins while trying to loose weight.. You can have 2nds or 3rd's if you want, just never mix the two types together while loosing the weight.

Lunch: whatever you want.

Supper: whatever you want.

Basically, you can eat what ever you want (and as much as you want), as long as you don't mix carbs & proteins while trying to loose weight. You can mix them again to maintain your weight though.

No counting calories. No counting of grams of 'Carbs'. No weighing your food (portion control). You can eat anywhere in the world, even in a restaurant, and still loose weight. You may have to make a minor modification to the order (order a side, or make a substitution) but it can be done. High fat foods are not bad for you !

Not sure if this is for you? Go to your library and get out one of Suzanne Somers' books. The first 60 pages or so explains how this works, and why it works safely. The rest of the book is a cookbook. The recipies are different in each of the books.

YES! But only 100% whole wheat. Even your pasta must be whole wheat ! No meat sauce or grated cheese on it either.

any info on that pure carbohydrate diet? i want to do some more research on it on google. i just don't understand why purely carbohydrate can reduce weight.

since according to atkins, it's the insulin that triggers your body to store energy... and insulin release is triggered by sugar.

The atkins diet is Super effective. My mother has lost a lot of weight on it, and it is the only thing that has effectively been able to control her diabeties.

this site may be able to help you, it's a BBS:

I went on the atkins diet last year i lost 50 lbs in about 9 weeks on it. Then I still lost about 1-2 lbs a week. I went off of it because I started working 16 hr shifts at work and try to find atkins friendly food at 3 am out of a vending machine. I am back on it now and losing great again. Atkins makes their own line of food substitutes that are really good. His BBQ sauce RULEZ. I am off to go BBQ some ribs and grill some brats and drink crystal light mixed with everclear. No carbs. Losing weight while staying hammered :) This diet is great for stoners too. Eat all you want as long as it doesnt have carbs. Sugar free jello is your friend.
