After reading a thread about web browsers here, I thought it might be interesting to see which browser people here prefer.

I currently prefer IE6. I've heard that AvantBrowser is good, though, and I may try it soon.

Opera: Tabbed browsing, super-fast, built-in Pop-up stopper, and best of all: ITS NOT MICROSOFT. And once you get used to mouse gestures, you wonder how you ever lived with out them...and why Windows Explorer doesn't have them.

But I LOVE Avant Browser. And I am very picky about my browser, since I do IT work.

I highly recommend those who use IE to try it out!!! Even better than using the Google Toolbar.

I use both IE6 and Netscape7.1.

IE6 is used about 90% of the time and I occasionally use Netscape7.1. I've seen the names of the other browsers and aware of most of them in the list.

I think two browsers are enough for me and this doesn't include unofficial browsers such as in Real Player and the Encarta Encyclopaedia.

It runs much faster than IE, and it automatically tabs all your pages, so you don't get the annoying "group" function of IE windows in XP. There is memory to save your pages, so you don't lose your place when your browser or PC crashes. There are a whole lot of functionality with the small wrapper, which does things like auto-fresh of each pager per your preference, google search integration, and much much more.

All in a small 1.8 MB footprint!

All I use is IE6. I might try out some of the other browser's mentioned here.

I'm very content with my IE6.

No need to change if I'm happy with it.

Opera works with every site I've tried so far. The old version 6 had some problems with some sites due to it's Jave implementation, but 7 works flawlessly. Now, if I have a site that doesn't work correctly it's because of one of two things: my firewall (which blocks ads/popups) and my browser setup which is set to block multimedia (especially flash, which I can't stand). If I do happen upon a site that doesn't work, I just find another one. Ads/popups/flash are very annoying, and I won't visist a site that uses them (unless they can be blocked w/o problems).

I'm using Mozilla Suite and Opera at home, at home server Links works well, and Mozilla Firebird at school.

I use IE6 at work and Opera 7 at home (as a security precaution ) and have few issues with compatibility. It doesn't seem to work properly with the BB-code (for posting these messages)- the [] marks all end up at the end of the message. However I normally draw up longer posts offline and do the codes manually, so that's no great deal.

I am just so used to IE, and it is built in with Windows, so I see no reason of switching. I think it is convinient to have one part built into your OS, considering nothing else really is.

I voted for IE6 (because that is what I used at the time I voted), but I'm using Avant Browser now. It's great!

Mozilla 1.5, for web, email, news, and calendar

I stopped using IE at 5.0. I got sick and tired of downloading the lastest weekly security patch at windows update. If you don't turn off all javascript, cookies, and active x garbage you leave yourself wide open to the latest and greatest IE/Outlook security/trojan/virus/you get the idea.

I also support the moz project because it is multiplatform, supports more w3c standards and promotes web desiners writing intelligent standard code rather than microsoft crufty html.

Mostly been using IE6 but after frequent lockups and slowdowns I switched to Opera, really love those mouse gestures !
Still using IE at work tho.
