Disney's Self-Destructing DVD's

After reading this news article, http://www.cdrlabs.com/#6, I started seeing the point of view of environmentalists. If there is no need to re-use the DVD's after they destroy themselves then people are simply going to toss them in the trash...much like AOL free trial discs. I wonder who produces/will produce more disposable discs: AOL or Disney? :P

Well, at least the Disney disks would have gotten one or two uses out of them. The AOL disks get no uses out of them.

I use the AOL disks as frisbees :)

I don't think Disney is going to sell to many of these. At $6.99, its still cheaper to rent a DVD. At my local video store, I can rent a movie for a week for that much.

A) I *LOVE* the AOL discs!! They make great targets when I go to the shooting range!

B) Pirates are gonna loooveee these new DVDs. It's super-simple to copy DVDs now, plus they'll get the case!
