I'm quite shocked at this news:

FREE community college tuition for illegal immigrants!

After granting illegal immigrants the right to obtain driver's licenses in California, Gov. Gray Davis now must decide whether to sign bills qualifying them for free community college tuition and requiring local governments to honor identification cards issued by the Mexican government.

I'm so sick of these bleeding heart liberals!Great idea let more illegals stay in CA so we natives have less of a chance to go to college not to mention CA is still in the red $8 billion.

you now have even more ways to qualify for free tuition!!
Instead of enrolling in the US Armed Forces and getting free tuition via the G.I. Bill, you can now just show your proof of Illegality, and voila, free tuition!!!

Uncle Gray Davis WANTS YOU!!! (especially if you're hispanic and illegal)

*disclaimer: free illegal immigrant tuition offer valid for a limited time only, or until Gray Davis is recalled. not valid in 49 other United States of America. Value of free tuition offer is 1/100 of one cent.

I'm against the idea of a recall, but if Gray Davis is trying to court the hispanic vote by giving their illegal brothers free college, who's to say that Cruz Bustamonte won't do the same (assuming Gray loses the recal, and Cruz wins)l?

I'm not sure about Bustamonte either. I didn't like him that much since he circumvented campaign contribution laws by taking large donations from the Indian Casinos through his 2002 campaign and then siphoning that to his 2003 campaign.

As much as everyone makes fun of Arnold, I'm starting to like him more and more...

I think that he would win if Gray Davis is recalled.

P.S. Congrats on 200 posts, Boone! :D

Not even close, it's $38 billion in deficit.

And it gets worse yet, the driver's license form has a checkbox on the back for voter registration, so now they can all register to vote at the same time. No questions asked, the DMV clerks have standing orders not to question any applicant on any issue. If I filled out an app and listed my weight as 300 pounds, they are not to question it at all.

I actually think its a wonderful idea. The CA economy is so dependent upon illegal residents that to ignore them is just foolish. It is in California's best interest to not only help the ones that they have, but actually encourage further immigration. Because of this immigration "problem" CA gets a great deal of federal money.

Now that we've established that illegals are generally needed in CA, the question of what to do with them needed answering. The knee-jerk reaction is to kick them out. But that uses up resources, man power, court time, and holding facility spaces that can be used for real criminals like the major traffic law violators that are such an epidemic in CA. Instead of having a bunch of uneducated illegal immigrants floating around, why not educate them? The short term loses money but the return on the long term is huge. Would you rather have a significant portion of your population educated or uneducated? I'll take educated but "illegal" any day of the week over uneducated and "legal."

I think its a perfect solution to securing the future of CA.

logical to you may be, but not me.

Not only my family have to pay tax, car tax (going to be 3X), plus what ever we are short of amount from grant and loan(3 children, and they don't help you pay for your summer and summer housing). Not to mention school raises their fees like crazy. For our student grant and loan, we have to pay for rents, and every housing around every UC has insane rate. And this year has lower grant, more loan, and more fee. Plus we have to pay for our higher utility rates.

And all these crap is not tax deductable. Instead of solving the problem to illegal immagrant, he's basically welcoming such action. And they don't need to pay their share of income tax, so why should I then???

Why not use those money to lower the tuition and benefit everyone instead of only illegal immagrant???

Woah, Conundrum, that was a bit hard to read. What I think I picked up from your post is that illegal immIgrants are benefitting more from the CA socialism but putting in less. Vice versa for the legals, of course. And this is the perfect solution to that problem. Illegals will soon be able to get higher paying jobs based on their newly acquired education. But they won't be able to buy into the new higher paycheck without first becoming legal. You think Sun is going to higher Pepe the illegal Accountant? Then there is the crime problem which also gets helped by this. A large portion of CA crime is committed by illegal immIgrants. Studies show that crime is most prolific in poor and uneducated communities. This would infuse that community with money from those getting the better jobs and education for all.

No, but companies like Sun will import some schmoe from Pakistan or India and pay him half what they'd pay a US citizen.
