Using 'Contact an eBay Member' form to get bidders...

Is using the 'Contact an eBay Member' form after someone else's auction has already closed (so they can't get it anymore anyway) to write a note to get potential bidders (chosen from a list people who had placed bids on the similar item which is now closed) for your auction of a similar item considered bad manners?

I checked the rules, and couldn't find anything about it.

I don't want to do it if it is considered taboo.
The thing is the other auction has already ended (without the reserve being met), so the bidders from that auction can't get the item anymore since the auction has closed.
If this is considered acceptable ebay behavior, I wouldn't mind 'advertising' my auction of a very similar item to potential bidders who were bidding on a similar item that has since CLOSED.

Opinions for or against are welcome!

Thank you.

Many people do it, I've even done it before. If you're good, you can get the bidder in the other auction to buy your item without even setting up an auction on your behalf, then you save the eBay fees.
