They actually captured Saddam alive. What do you think? I never thought they would get him alive.

I would like to give a big THANK YOU to all the troops who helped capture Saddam Hussein.
I seriously thought Saddam would kill himself if the US troops ever got close enough, like what Hitler did.

I saw this guy on a street corner holding a sign saying "WILL WORK FOR A DICTATORSHIP".

Good work to all involved.

Too bad this is going to boost Bush's approval rating. For awhile there, I don't know who was disliked more: Bush or Saddam.

This is a boost for all countries involved, including the people of Iraq.

I wouldn't be surprised if they had had saddam within their grasp for a while now, and only went after him to boost Bush's approval rating.

My post? Then I suppose I can assume you live in the U.S. right?

The fact is, the U.S. administration has been hiding important information since even before 9/11 even occured. Just like at Pearl Harbour, there is a lot of of reasons to suspect that the president knew prior to the attack what would happen. And I believe at the time it occured (although I could be wrong on this one), Bush was even in Airforce 1, using it as a mobile base (as opposed to actually flying somewhere).

The fact is, Bush is the single greatest terrorist threat in the world. Before you flame me on that statement, take a look at the deffinition of "terrorist" again, and then take a look at Bush's "Shock and Awe" compain. Then take a look at the U.S. assassination squads being formed in Iraq. Saying nothing of course about the lack of WMDs in Iraq...

Well.. the US definitely isn't as innocent as they pretend they are. There's a reason why most of the world hates us.

yeah. there are reasons.

some are that you are the most wealth and most powerful nation on Earth.

it's a far cry to call Bush a terrorist.

sure, the US has done deplorable things too (which country hasn't?)
but take a good look at the other side.

IMO.. Bush isn't smart enough to be a terrorist.

LOL
i recall some things about him from election time.
like when he was a pilot in the National Guard...but wasn't really, spent all his time for private business or his dad's politics, can't recall. didn't really do his "military work"...

pretty smart in my book to pull such a thing off AND get elected president nontheless :o

There's a lot of talk about some of the stuff Bush did in his college days. Drinking, drugs, etc.. It makes Bill Clinton look like an angel.

There must have been a reason that the U.S. thought that there were WMDs there... After all, the Iraqis had plenty of time between the U.S.'s warning and the attack to move the WMDs out of the country.

well, as for lack of Weapons of Mass Destruction in Iraq, we'll have to wait and see. we've certainly waited a long time for Saddam himself.

but really, if WMDs are found or not, it's a hypothetical question as far as i'm concerned. if the Israeli Air Force hadn't bombed the Iraqi/French nuclear reactor 20 years or so ago, they'd have had Nuclear weapons long ago no doubt about it.

"...if the Israeli Air Force hadn't bombed the Iraqi/French nuclear reactor 20 years or so ago, they'd have had Nuclear weapons long ago no doubt about it."

I remember when that happened,I thought that was wrong because at the time Saddam was a US "friend" but when he invaded Kuwait he became our "fiend".
Now I see it was a wise decision because Israel was just looking after their national security.

To whom it may concern:
PM Blair came up with the idea of taking out Saddam back in 1999 and many US Senators back in the mid 1990's long before Pres.Bush was in office.

it was the right decision (for Israel at least) in any case.
we got a lot of heat for it.
time has proven us right.

as for Saddam being a "friend" of the US at the time, well that just goes to show you. some of the "friends" of the US aren't that good friends. and aren't very nice people to say the least.
Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Contras, Aiende (sp?) in Peru (?).
some of the reasons some people hate the US (referring to Ian's post above).
international politics is a murky business. and it was worse in the years of the cold war.

In his college days, he is not in college anymore and he is a changed man.
Bill Clinton, when asked if he's ever done drugs: "I did not inhale"
At least Bush admitted his mistakes openly and he is truly sorry for them.
