I'm not seeing RoTK until Friday. Tickets sold out weeks in advance here.

Why do I keep thinking "Lord of the Bling"? I need to stop watching Mad TV.

I'm not sure yet when I'm going to see it, but I know I will.

Ian, your comment reminded me of this: http://ars.userfriendly.org/cartoons/?id=19991018&mode=classic.

I think he's probably code yellow...

They had footage of people waiting in line at a local theater, many dressed in their costumes. It was not a pretty sight.

Jennifer went to the 1st showing down where she lives with her friends. I have no idea what the "hype" is behind this movie. I don't recall people being all excited like this for when T3 came out or even better Back to the Future 3

T3 and Back to the Future aren't in the same class as LOTR. Now, the Matrix or Star Wars.. you'd see a similar turn out.

Monte, were you even born when Back to the Future 3 came out? That movie is old.

anyway the third film is great too.
i won't say anything and wait with commentary and criticism a few days, so as not to spoil anything for anyone.
(well...it's not like we don't know the ending...THE BUTLER DID IT! )

i'm seeing it tomorrow again, this time just the new movie, with the wife.

I went last nite to watch it with 4 other friends. Started to stand in line at 5:30 for a 7:35 showing. Good thing I had friends around to talk and play cards with to help pass time.

Overall, I enjoyed the movie. It was really good and entertaining. I think The Twin Towers might have been better, but I can't really say since I haven't seen it since last December. I'm going to watch Twin Towers again on Christmas with my family, so we'll see how it compares to The Return Of The King.

Eh? This is a faux pas, right? I hope this isn't a reference to the World Trade Center.

The Twin Towers

I can see it now- Elvis, escaped from alien bondage, climbing the twin towers... :D

Guess you never read the book, right? The second part/book is called The Two Towers and was written in the '40s.

I told you guys, I haven't seen the movie since last December when it was first released. So sorry if I don't remember the exact title. And no, I didn't read the books and I'm not a die hard LOTR fan either.

I made a dumb mistake.
The TWO Towers.
