PETA hits a new low

Argh...stupid PETA! If someone handed that to my kid, I'd deck 'em.

Read it here:
http://www.komo4.com/stories/28882.htm

And yeah, I do hunt. And yeah, I make jokes about (just read my sig line), but I do *like* animals. A lot. If I see someone hurting an animal (even a cat!), I will step in on behalf of the animal. If I hunt, it is for food and food alone. Some may not agree with that...fine. I used to be pro-gun and anti-hunting. But PETA just crosses the line. Now where would the human race be if we never, ever killed a single animal in history? Oh, yeah...extinct.

Sorry for the rant...PETA pisses me off. They value animal's lives more than humans. I just can't stand 'em.

Monte, you shouldn't have posted that address :)

I'm going to put it up all over the hunting/gun forums now!

Think I'll order a few of those flyers...he he he! :P

And look! They have a mailing address there! And look! The people on GlockTalk want to send meat care packages to them but don't have the address! Oh look! I posted the address on Glocktalk!

Aren't a devil? :P

I hunt also but this is taking things a little far.I guess they'll get their point across anyway they can.I think they care so much for animals 'cause they can't relate to normal people,or they just want to be noticed.Who knows!!!!!
You'd think they would have better things to do with their trust funds!!!!!!

I agree with them about the whole fur thing; I really don't like people who wear furs just because they want to make a fashion statement. But PETA just is too far out in left field.

The truly sad thing is that PETA could actually be a helpful, useful organization if they weren't such total idiots.

I agree totally. They need a crash course in ethics and marketing cause most people are mute to there rants and tactics.
Morons.

 If someone handed my child a comic book like that, I'd be pissed. I can't believe that they would stoop to that level. Wait...nevermind.

How's this low?

Yahoo! News wrote:(AP) - The animal-rights activists who once suggested Ronald McDonald was a bloody butcher are going after Colonel Sanders, contending cruelty is the "secret recipe" for KFC's fried chicken. Starting next month, Norfolk-based People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals plans to hand out "Buckets of Blood" to children outside KFC restaurants and at schools near the restaurants.

Check out this interesting article.

Honestly, who are the members of PETA? Who thinks of these devilish ideas? I don't know why, but their despicable ways remind me of the KKK.

PETA has never been anything more than domestic semi-violent terrorism under the guise of compassion. Their recent strategy of targeting children is both immoral and stupid. Children do not purchase the food or even think about what they are eating and have no interest in politics or moral questions. It is now just an assault on children. These kind of assaults on children should be met with violent and swift defense, in my opinion.

I'd say how bad this is depends a lot on the definition of "children" here.

If the kids are 4 or 5, then yes I completely agree this is sick, and can only serve to frighten.

However, if they hand these out to 10-12 year olds or older, it could be useful depending on your point of view. This is just the time when youngsters start to become radicalised politically, and whether you agree with the ethics or not, this group are the right age to be influenced by a campaign such as this. The problem, however, is that by this time the tone of the leaflet is patronising to this age group so probably wouldn't go down too well.

I'm tempted to say that the parents who are still insistent on wearing fur probably deserve all they get, but it still doesn't excuse the actions of this organisation if they are passing these flyers to very young children.

Shock tactics do work in getting points across (Northern Ireland's anti-drink driving TV ads are a case in point) but these don't seem to be very well thought out. However, I think just publicising the "sting" isn't helpful either as it itself trivialises some important moral debates.

I am a hunter and lawful firearms owner whom happens to never mistreat animals.

I hate the sight of 'trophies' and only hunt or fish what will be consumed.

PETA has lost my respect and deserves to labelled as the radical fundamentalists they are.

We should treat all life with respect.

Although I disagree with most of what Peta does, I agree with some of thier points.

PETA needs a simple lesson in nature.

If your eyes are in the front of your head (such as humans, wolves, hawks or whatever) you eat meat.

If you have eyes in the side of your head (rabbits, mice, deer, cows, ect) you are meat.

I say humans were born to eat meat, we are preditors. We are all born killers.
