Too bad it is gone now! Looks like it got pulled.
I think it would have been the most expensive item sold on ebay
by a long shot, unless the information in the following recent link
is no longer valid.

This guy is selling another bike? He had a crazy auction for a bike frame a month or two ago.

same bike...
Speaking of which, this is a re-listing because the winning bidder last time was a decerebrate turnip who was able to click on buttons and hit the numbers keys, but unable to read web pages, and didn't realise that he was 200 miles away. "I dint no (sic) where you lived" read his email.

I have been looking for a new center channel speaker for my HT setup
at home.
I missed a few deals that went within an hour after I saw it in both cases (Buy it Now), even though they had been out for at least an hour or two when I first saw them.
I hesitated because neither of them matched my front speakers.
I have now decided that if a high qaulity speaker comes up, i will take it anyway, since the center that matches my fronts isn't quite what I am looking for (center cannel speaker is very important in HT because most of a movie's soundtrack is reporduced by the center channel, including the dialogue).

Anyway, I digress from what I originally wanted to post here.
I wanted to post about problems with some ebay auctions (other than feedback issues :) ):
I almost bought a speaker yesterday on ebay (person had flawless feedback, although hadn't sold electronics before; mostly wetsuits for surfing and had also been a buyer in a number of cases, which counts less, to me at least).
The problem is that the person would only accept a money order or check. No PayPal, no CC etc.

I specifically read some advice, which of course makes perfect sense, NOT to buy anything with money order (or by check I suppose, even though it wasn't mentioned) since there is no chargeback if the item turns out to be a dud, or not show up at all.

There was only 1 bid for that auction (submitted with a minute to go);
the buyer is either lucky to get the speaker for a very good price OR will have a nightmare if something goes wrong...

It's back to being listed here.

It's currently going for $7,000,000.00 with no bids.
