Guys, If any of you install Linux and if it doesn't bootup, it's a common issue with LILO. Just hit the LILO Howto and the solution is there. Below is a link for ref:

When the system doesn't boot, you can boot from the installation CD in diag mode and edit the lilo.conf in in /etc . don't forget to run lilo after you make the changes in conf file, otherwise changes will not be activated.
Btw, personally I always liked the looks of GNome and speed of KDE. But ultimately KDE wins because of it's simplicity and speed. GNome is sometimes confusing and slowww.
