Question is for US only, of course.

My wife is off, and I have to work. It's a weird holiday.

I am not off :( and that isn't cool cause I work for a real estate compnay and all the real estate boards are closed. as well as the escrow companies. So I am not sure what they expect that I will be doing.. Normally i always have Monday off but I am working this monday because on Tuesday I will be with Jennifer in Sac. CA for some meeting she has.

I have off, but I hurt my back so instead of being out snowboarding, I will spend my day laying on the couch and at the chiropractor's office. Oh what joy...

Ian, that sucks. Did you hurt your back snowboarding?

This may be the first season that I have not snowboarded in many years. Too much travel & first year with my daughter.

Take showers at hot as you can handle it. Hopefully that'll help loosen you up at least a bit.

My butt is going to be at work for MLK Day. Biz as usual.

Unfortunately, no. I was playing with the dog and I bent my back at an odd angle. I need to get better since I'm leaving for Jackson Hole in a week.

School and government work are both off for me.

I hope UPS still delivers on MLK Day because that's when my Ipod is supposed to arrive at my home. :D

It was the 10GB model from that Amazon deal I posted last week.

Its gonna be pretty cool. I ordered one for my friend and another friend got one last week from Best Buy for $250. So that's 3 of us with Ipods. Still trying to convince a friend or two to get one also. I'm gonna be happy when I have some music to listen to while walking around school.

Linkin Park all the way! :D

Speaking of LP, have you heard that "Splitting DNA" thing? I've been on a Staind/POD/Sevendust kick lately.

Yes,

UPS does deliveries and pickups on MLK day, just a normal business day. The USPS takes off because it is a government branch.

Pardon my ignorance- why is it a weird holiday? Who gets off from work and who doesn't? Does it vary regionally?

That's because we live in a country that was founded on Christian beliefs for the most part...

Yeah, I agree with MediumRare there. Who cares who works and who doesn't. Martin Luther King Jr. was a great man who fought for the liberties of all. For all of us to be equal.

MediumRare,

As far as who works and who doesn't, it can pretty much be seperated by this: If you are a government employee or work for part of a branch of a government, there is no work, if you are independent from the government, there is work.

I was off, although it felt almost as if it had been a normal 2-day weekend.
I am not complaining though; especially since having MLK Day off made this a 4-day work week.

It started off as a nerve-wrecking day, but ended up much better
than I anticipated.
I am thankful for that.
