I haven't purchased there, but it doesn't seem too good:

Thanks.
I had checked the reviews, but they seemed mixed.
However, the main problem seemed to be when customers needed RMA service.
I might just take a chance. If things go wrong, I can always file a dispute with my CC company, although I hope it doesn't come to that.

If I weren't in a hurry to order an 822A (both my Plextors are being shipped to their new owners), or another merchant that actually had it in stock was close to the price...

Aren't you in Jersey, VEFF? IIRC, bananapc.com charges sales tax to orders originating from NJ. Now, maybe even with the tax, they have cheapest price around for the 822A, but it's something to watch for. ;)

Thanks Wizard. I had noticed the part about sales tax to my state,
which did surprise me, since newegg is one of the only other merchants that charges sales tax to my state.

The drive is due to arrive early next week.

Yeahhhhh, I wasn't too happy when Newegg started shipping things from NJ. Sales tax is the devil.

Yes, that was a big benefit to ordering from Newegg in the past.
Now Dell is more competitive, since Dell Home still doesn't charge sales tax to my state.
