My New Toy

Unfortunately, my 17" Viewsonic CRT monitor broke a few weeks back and have been stuck since with an old 15" monitor. It sucked that my monitor broke 5 months after the 3 year warranty period was over. I've been looking for an LCD screen awhile now, so I knew which LCD screen I wanted, just needed to look for a sale. Good thing my tax refund will help pay for most of my LCD screen since it was close to $850.

I got myself a Dell Ultrasharp 2001FP 20.1" LCD screen. This thing is amazing and HUGE!! I've included a size 11 sneaker to help show how big this screen really is. I have it running on DVI at 1600x1200 resolution and when I played CS and UT2K4 on it, it was like WOW. :o Didn't notice any ghosting and best of all, my LCD screen arrived with NO dead pixels. Tech specs can be read here and yes this LCD planel has a response time of 16ms. :D

This LCD screen is worth every penny I paid since I'll be looking at it daily. Enjoy the pics. :D

very nice man =D> I agree that LCD monitors are very nice. I bought a 17" Samsung last year and its been the best upgrade I have ever purchased. No more eye strain.

Looks good. I'm holding out a bit longer for monitors with slightly faster response times. I play a lot of FPS' and while 16ms is good, there still is some ghosting occasionally.

that 1600x1200 taxes the vid card pretty good doesn't it?

1600x1200 on my geforce 5900 ultra smokes, an LCD is my next upgrade too

im holdin out till we drop prices in store, and can get the staples hook up on a 21" w/ DVI

right now im using a KDS Avitron AV-195TF 19" CRT

man i want a LCD screen, but they just still are too much! I am on a 19" Sony Trinitron CRT, so i can't get a smaller screen. and it has to run at 1600x1200
So far the best i could find is SAMSUNG 213T-Black 21" LCD Monitor
but it is $1229 at newegg! And their no way by having that screen that I would make any money back. So buying it would be silly. must wait till it is 1/2 price

Yes Hox, I think that they are the new BoobTube Full L-C36-D widescreen. But I hear they come with two burned pixels right smack in the middle of the screen. But, I can live with that.
