Wow, that was incredible. I have a friend who got ripped off by someone in Romania for about 800.00 bucks using ebay. That's why, if I want something that bad, I go to where I pay and I have control over the item.

That's why you don't like Ebay? :-?

Ebay has nothing to do with it, really, it's dishonest people that do. I've made a policy of not shipping outside of US/Canada (I made one exception shipping a rare Macintosh Nubus card to Japan; the buyer paid up front), and I've done research on buyers and sellers. Even when buying an expensive item from a 0-feedback user, I've been fine (note: I traced their listed address and phone number and confirmed). If a seller or buyer does their homework, 99% of the time they'll come out just fine.

That was really funny!

c't had an article a couple of issues ago about scamming the "Nigeria Connection". There seems to be a thriving community engaged in this "sport"! The main source of their information was http://www.419eater.com (be sure to have a look at the trophy room). Some more interesting links are http://www.africanscam.co.uk and http://www.419fun.com.
