Yeah, that bill is pretty dead. Feinstein is pleading and ignoring facts even on the senate floor. The dems need Bush to push the bill but all he said was he would sign reauthorization of the current bill if it hit his desk. House will likely never pass it. And there is always the gun immunity bill to attach as the poison pill so the reauthorization doesn't happen. It is as good as dead. Many companies like Beretta are offering free full capacity magazine coupons with purchase to be redeemed in September and Sig has been shipping with pre-94 full capacity magazines on some of the models.

[homer voice]Mmm...Sig P220....[/homer voice]

At least mags for my gun are fairly cheap, ban or not (about $50) - it's a Para Ordance P14 Limited, a very nice 14+1 capacity 1911. Love it :)

And my, don't we get off topic quick here! Not a single post about the orginal subject

Noooooooooooooooooooooo.... The para double stacks are cool. I was thinking about an STI double stack when I was getting a 1911 but I couldn't do it. 1911s are "supposed" to be single stacks just like god and John Browning intended them to be.

Edited to add: Friday, July 23rd is Senate's last working day until they reconvene on September 7. Giving them the 7th, 8, 9th, 10th to reauthorize the bill before it sunsets at Midnight, September 12 which happens on a Sunday (or is that considered a Monday?). It ain't looking good for Miss Turn-Them-All-In, a.k.a. elitist bitch with a conceal carry permit and a snub .38, a.k.a. DiFi, a.k.a. Diane Feinstein.

I was planning on an STI in .40 Super (which is to the 10mm what the 10mm is to the .40), but then Triton ammo went belly up, which ment no more .40 Super. Sucks. Maybe a 10mm one, after the ban is gone. That'd be what, 16+1 capacity? :)

I've seen Para's in 10mm before (full custom jobs), they use the standard .40 hi-caps for 16+1. Nice!

Gotta get me a new toy soon...I'm think AR in .50 Beowulf :) That should wake everyone at the range up; especially when they make fun of "that wimpy little .223"!

That .50 beowulf is a potent beast. I got to fire one once. It was like shooting a slug out of a 20 gauge. Beastly. I concur with your decision and think that if you are going to get one, you might as well get two and send me one.

Umm...I don't remember saying that!

Beastly, though? Never shot a .458 Lott, have you? :)
I got rid of a 12guage because 3" magnum's were too boring to shot out of it! But a semi auto should be fun :)

CZ is planning a .505 Gibbs for next year. I WILL be getting one!

Can't say I have. Biggest rounds I have shot would be .358 Norma Magnum or a .375 H&H magnum. I'm not really a boom chaser or a big rifle shooter. I stick with medium powered handguns (9mm, .357/.38, .45), .22s handguns and rifles, and shotguns at clays. In fact, the largest caliber I plan on getting and shooting with some regularity is probably going to be a .308. I shot slugs out of my 870 once, 2-3/4" ones. Five of them. Did it once. Never again.

I put about 100 rounds of 3" Magnums (slugs + 00 buck) through my Mossburg 590 one a range trip once. Needless to say, it got me used to recoil :)
